What lurks in the dark forest?

I decided to trek into the dark forest of Hemlocks which covers about half the property I'm hunting. This is where the deer hide all day, and is why I have not been seeing much the past few days. I know of a trail that has a good rub and scrape line heading out on to a high point above a small ravine. It is also out in this dark forest. I settle into this nice ground blind. I tried some lite rattling. This little guy come in after a few minutes, but comes from behind. I have to draw quick, and he takes off like Santa's deer. I busted out laughing and he sped away. Better luck next time.

I enjoy hunting on the ground. I hunt from trees a lot still but some days I have to just get down to ground level. Sounds like you had a fun hunt

Cool! I love hunting with my feet on Mother Earth also. No funnier way to match wits. Good luck!

That was PA Tom. At least I get to take off the orange once I'm in the blind. It's over lapping black powder season now.

Nice pic Jerry. looks like you got a nice spot there. I'm glad one of us is getting some action. I sat the Junction blind Saturday and just saw a lone doe just as it was getting light.

Great info/pics for someone just coming out of the treetops.

I get a special feeling hunting with as little equipment as possible, and in my head I guess a glass bow is less technology than an aluminum treestand. :/
Now I need to figure a way out on how to climb a tree and just sit in the branches without falling.
But nothing beats ground hunting, just be careful and don't get too into it when your with other hunters, no one will ever forget the sight of a lil camoed guy crawling towards deer.
