Anyone in Fairbanks?
« on: January 30, 2016, 10:57:00 PM »
I have a friend who is stationed in Fairbanks that is wanting to get into archery. I am sending him one of my bows and all the equipment needed to shoot. I was hoping there might be someone there who might be able to help him if he had any questions or shoot with him if they had any free time. Thanks in advance. Josh

Go poke around on the Bowyers Bench. There are a few Alaskans on there.

Josh I have a good friend in Fbx who has mentored quite a few newbies to the traditional world.  He is very knowledgeable and is always willing to help someone out.  The problem right now is that I don't think there is a shop in Fbx right now so shooting outside is a bit chilly.  PM me and I can get you Daves info.

Not to jump in late, but I am in Fairbanks, and looking for someone to help me get back into archery. Bill is it possible to link up with your friend.

Do an Internet search for "Alaska Bowhunting" + forum. It will lead you to folks who know what they're talking about, on this and related subjects in the Great Land. I know there are traditional bowhunters who have been involved in that forum previously.

You might also contact The Cook Inlet Archers. They may know of somebody. If you end up talking with Vikki Gross at any point, tell her Charlie sent ya.     :)
