57# preditor w/2219

My 57# preditor was shooting great with xx75 2219 arrows. But now not so. I was useing 145gr buzz cuts. I tried adding weight to the tip as it seems like the arrows are over spined. The set up shoots flakey at best. Also it has a new string set at the same brace. Same kind of silencers. What could have happened? How can I get back what I had? Oh yes 29,5" arrows 28.5 draw

Could be the new string. Is it a different strand count or string maker?

How tight are your nocks on the new string??

If you know the strand count,material,number of twists and serving size of the old string.You had you might try and replicate that string as close as possible.

Is the new string different as far as material,strand count,2 bundle or 3 bundle,nock fit and the amount of twists in it?

assuming you bow is cut to center or slightly past it you are way over spined. Probably your release has improved and you are starting to see it. The pluckier your release the stiffer the spine you will need. The caveat to that is if you should a bow 3/8 past center or even further. Like BW. The need arrows that are quite stiff.

Let's see you are shooting 70# plus spine and expect good flight from a 57# Bow???? Hmmmmmm try 2018's.

Yes I agree, I am on the top side spine wise with my 57# recurve and 2117 with 200 up front at 28.5 inches.

I got a new string cuz my groups were starting to suffer. I called 3 rivers and they said that the arrows were o-k as it is a performance bow like a black widow. They said it might be the way I'm strumming the string. I noticed my tab had a crease in it (like a paper crease) so I used a new tab. Arrows fly perfect now. Yes they are spined at 70# but that is what worked when I was going to use cedars. Any ways now I'm back to golf ball size groups at 20 yards with the arrows straight in the target. Bare shaft test went well also.

Oh yes the nocks. I'm useing tighter nocks. That helped too. When my old tab was good I noticed better groups out of my hunting arrows that had tighter nocks than my practice arrows. The practice arrows were very loose on the string but I didn't bother with it cuz I didn't think it was a big deal. I was wrong about that.

Were you shooting other bows? And maybe changed your grip on the bow? I find I can only hold my predator by the throat with thumb and forefinger or open handed. That gives me great flight with a wide variety of shafts. If I grip it like I shoot my BW I can't hit anything and all shafts will show weak.

Mine is a 62" bow with 52lb limbs draw to 31". 60 -61 1lb @ 31"  and shoots a .340 with 300 gr up front.
