Wouldn't trade my Petzl headlamp. Love the hands free walk into my stand and out.

Man, a lot of opinions here. Here's mine: I use just a cheap led clip on for getting into the stand etc. However, for shining walking to my stand I use a Streamlight Strion. This dude is small (about the size of AA maglight), last over an hour on a single charge, and you talking about bright. It is almost like a Q-beam--well, almost. Check this light out.

I just purchased a meg light 3 AA, it is very bright, and I think it will help in trailing the blood trail, the light is really white.
