Nothing more Traditional than our beloved Bald Eagles..

"Thirteen bald eagles found dead near a farm on Maryland's Eastern Shore may have been poisoned, authorities say, in the largest single die-off of bald eagles in the state in 30 years.
Officials with the Maryland Natural Resources Police said they received a call around 2:30 p.m. Saturday from a man who said he was out looking for antlers that deer might have shed. The man came across what he initially thought was a dead turkey in a field on a farm in Caroline County. He discovered it was four dead bald eagles."

Apparently the thought is poisoning.
It's believed the farmer used a poison or pesticide for rodents which if the dead rodent is consumed by birds they will die.

30 Yrs ago another 8 Bald eagles were found dead in Maryland.  What's up with Maryland?

Our environment is so very fragile and sensitive. We need to understand most everything we do help ourselves in many cases inadvertently effects another in nature.

It's true and that farm is about 8 miles if that from where I live and I have seen Bald Eagles many times around that area.I actually lived on Laurel Grove Road about 20 years ago and hunt Idlewild State public land  where these Eagles were found nearby.
Just last year my good friend Bruce and I took a drive over Idlewild and in a 2 hour drive we counted 14 Bald Eagles in that area and on one farm we saw 6 or 7 eating on what appeared to be a dead deer out in the field near Idlewild state park.
This is in our local paper today and just makes my blood boil reading this.
We have had many Bald Eagles come back and it is such a beautiful thing to see Eagles soaring over head and now something has caused the death of these Eagles?
I don't know if there was some sort of foul play or if they gotten into some sort of poison and I was just talking to a retired DNR buddy of mine about this when I got home and I hope they find who is responsible for this.
I can tell you this if I hear of someone that caused this I'll be reporting them in a heartbeat.
