wait+over=happiness
« on: March 18, 2016, 04:48:00 PM »
I know that it has been a minute since my last post... But I have been on here reading and learning.  I just really haven't had much to say and my work.... well its been busy to say the least.  the holidays for me equal one of the busiest times of the year.  Burglaries are up, robberies are up and about every other type of crime as well.  This past December my wife got a bonus.  Aside from saving most of it we each got a little money to play with.  I decided to get a bear patriot.  I had been drooling over longbows and Big jim was having an insane sail.  I got a beautiful 60 lb patriot, but there was a problem...... There was a small crack on the back side and some may remember the post.

Well the crack got bigger within a few days as determined by a small ruler (micrometer).  Big Jim was kind enough to put me in touch with his contact at bear named JR.  I spoke to JR at length about the bow and he said they would be able to replace it at no cost to me.  I would have to pay shipping to them but hey thats life.  As JR and I talked I told him I had really wanted the Montana but Big Jim didn't have any, and told him my dream was to one day own the Ausable as Big Jim didn't have any of those either (except in 25 pounds.)

TO my Surprise JR offered to replace the defective patriot with an Ausable in the poundage of my choosing.  I was elated and then the wait began.  I had the bow into Bear just before christmas..... Many of you can resonate with my feelings here.  January goes by nothing, February nothing,  and March was seemingly flying by as well.

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK..... who the heck could that be... as I am writing my many police reports trying to keep up.  I open the door to find a beautiful perfect, fully inspected Bear Au Sable in 45 lbs....... I have never held nor seen such a beautiful bow.

First thank you to Big Jim for all the help. Second JR.  Words cannot express how thankful I am.  Fred Bear was an inspiration and it is nice to know that his company continues on in a way that would make him proud.  Thank you for putting up with all the emails. I am a proud Bear customer for life.

The bow is perfect and draws so smooth cant wait till its not raining here.....
Very grateful!
Thank you again JR.
Dave

For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.

Just took her for a shoot.  I set the brace close to just a tinch over the max recommended as, a person I trust has done.  I just have to say..... NO hand shock only longbow I have shot that felt like a recurve.  I would need to chrono to be sure but it does not seem any slower than my 55lb grizzly, while only being 45 lbs.   Really impressed.  I know why its the top of the line for bear longbows.

Also nice to see that Bear has finally improved its strings.  I know I have always been a critic of the ones I have seen and it seems like the material is the same, however the loops are proper sized and it is a true Flemish twist.
