Morton's Neuroma - Hiking boot needed - a TRUE EEE

I need a good lightweight but durable hiking/hunting boot, BUT, it must be for a WIDE foot. EEE is almost too narrow. Many manufacturers have WIDE sizes, but those wides are not wide enough.

As I age, my foot pain increases thereby requiring a very wide fitting boot, but not one that fits like a clown boot. If you have a very wide foot and especially if you suffer from Morton's, please tell me what you wear.

Don't have Mortons but feel your pain as far as finding a wide hunting boot, I wear a 6E and they are too tight at times try find boots in that width that are good hunting boots. I wear Muck boots because they give or stretch a bit but are still a little tight plus I get a size 10 when I actually wear a 8.5-9 boot..you might look at custom boot makers I looked into them a few years ago and boots were running right at 400.00 for custom fit boots, hard telling what they are now..

I actually had surgery for mortons and it came back even worse!! Sooooo frustrating. I have tried alotnof bows and rubber boots are all I can really wear "comfortably" but I would tell you to check out keens. I am able to wear them for work every day and they are nice and wide. Check them out.

I wear 4e.  If your are looking at a hiking boot and are near a cabela's check out there Mendel's (spelling)in wide.  They are almost to wide for me.

Yeah, ref surgery. Doc says it'll either work or make it worse. I'll take my chances and deal with it.

I have Mucks. They're OK, but am looking for a lace up hunting boot. Will check out the Meindl at Cabela's.

I have some river sandals with toe covered ends from Bass Pro. I'd wear them year round if I could. THE best thing for my feet.

I bought some boots from an online retailer this last fall made by Propet. I bought the Blizzard Mid Lace and love them. I can't speak as to how rugged they are because so far mine have only seen pavement, but they are by far the widest most comfortable production boot I have worn. They come in 3E and 5E. I bought the 5E. I have a 6E+ foot (I'm pretty sure it has spread out some more since being measured as a 6E). They seem to be good quality. From what I've seen this company makes a fairly extensive line of wider sizes.

The only walking shoes I wear any more are Keen's. They have a really wide toe box and it makes all the difference in the world. 5 EEEEE here...I have plantar fasciitis really bad at times too...they make life bearable.

Bud B., get another opinion on your Morton's neuroma, there are several treatment possibilities besides surgery.

Bud,  You might want to try your local Redwing store as they should be able to fit special needs.  Redwing owns and produces Vasque hiking boots so they can get good quality hiking boots.

Take a look at New Balance, 947's I believe, they come in 4EEE ... before having both ankles replaces I wore these because I could fit my leather ankle braces in them. I used to get them at Cabelas ... these are not for long hunts in the mountains but a good hiking boot and they are really comfortable.

I have it in my right foot.  I use an insert in all shoes that lifts the back half of my foot about an 1/8" and that really helps.  When it does flare up, I go to the doctor and he injects cortisone and that usually clears it up for 6 months to a year or longer.  I do try to wear shoes with a wide width.

I have EEE likely EEEE if they made them with a very high roof.

Nothing by Hanwags from this point forward.  not cheap or really lightweight but comfort should out way.
