Arrow Opinions

Went to a local Amish archery shop to use his range and did some looking around the shop.  He said he could set up a dozen Black Eagle with 5" fletches and inserts for $93.  I havent heard much about Black Eagle and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them.

Also, he offered to sell 11 Gold Tip Trads with 5" fletches for $70, but the spine was 7590.  I would have to buy some monster broadheads and inserts to weaken the spine for my 54# Dakota, so I wasnt too interested in that, but the price was tempting.

Whats yalls opinions on these two deals?

I would pass on those Gold Tips as well; don't know anything about Black Eagle. Can't comment on the calls without trying them myself.

No way I would want the 75-90 GT's, unless you have a 30" draw or something.

I shoot a lot of Black Eagle arrows. They have many different lines and that could either be the deal of the century or highway robbery depending on what line of arrows those are.

In general I find the quality of BE to be exceptional. I've shot a ton of Outlaws and Vintage, and some Carnivores and Zombie Slayers. Here is my impressions:

Outlaws: amazing shaft for the buck. This is my go-to and I own several dozen of them. Killed some stuff and can't seem to break them short of giving them a Robin Hood.

Vintage: expensive, but look AWESOME and come up to 34" as a full length. Good choice for really long draw guys, or folks that really want a wood look and a carbon shaft.

Carnivores: an excellent choice if you want to spend more per shaft than Outlaws, and you want to push FOC a bit more. For me, they aren't worth the extra money.

Zombie Slayers: I'm sure these are good, and my experience with them in heavy longbows was good, but I just can't buy an arrow called a Zombie Slayer.

I really liked the Vintage, but for the money I'm keeping with the Outlaws. I buy all of mine from TG sponsor Simply Traditional. Hope this helps!

If you do not build your own arrows, Personally I would give my business to a local store that I know, like or trust even if it costs a little more than internet pricing.

I do not know anything about the Black eagles but it sounds like his Gold Tip Prices are reasonable but you should not settle for an arrow that does not fit your bow.  If he is pushing them (and they dont fit your set up), it may be a  sign of his lack of knowledge with trad bows or his lack of caring to get you the right product.

The other way I would go is to contact a trad gang sponsor.  you could get a dozen of exactly what you need and companies that stand behind their products.
Relax,

You'll live longer!

I shoot GT 15/35 blems, 30 inch with 175 gr. Point out of my 44 lb bow. Anyone have experience with  600 series outlaw or vintage on a set up like this
"Brothers of the flaming arrow"
