If not look at the Toelke Pika
Unfortunately I don't have the cash for that, going to sell this noisy metal paperweight to pay for the bow so the budget is about 800.

In fact there is a large part of me that is saying "fool! you can buy 2 Mad Dog bows in different weights instead!!"

I have a number of Big Jim's bows, and I like them all. I really like his three piece take down Buffalo. I recently acquired a Thunder Child when he was having one of his sales, and really like it as well.

You can get a base model Buffalo or Thunder Child for around $600.

I would choose what you like and want and not go by what anyone else says. Unless they say it's a piece of junk.
I have heard good things about Big Jim bows and he is a sponsor here!
My first how was a Martin Hunter recurve, saw it, loved it and used it a lot. It eventually had had limb issue that they kindly fixed but psychologically I could not shoot it any more.
It has been expensive finding out what I like, it would cost you a fortune listening to what others like.
