PBS donations???
« on: October 21, 2007, 08:46:00 AM »
Does anyone know who is collecting the donations for next spring's PBS convention?  I am building a special self bow to donate and I don't know who is in charge of that stuff.  Heck, I'm so senile, I can't even find the email addy of PBS!

Or maybe I'm just more interested in hunting than office work....

Yeah...

It's basically a Super Cub propeller!!!  I love wide Osage bows.  I got some incredible Osage and one stave was very wide and flat...so...

The bow is 58" long.  I reckon it could be drawn to 27".  It is 54 pounds at 26".  Kudu horn tip overlays.  Backed with Western Diamondback.  It's a pretty as a school marm's smile.  Shoots really well.  I did some Indian art on the belly and it will have a brain tanned leather grip with a Kudu horn arrow rest.

I'll email Greg...

Thanks.

Mr. Brunner,

They are correct - Greg Darling is the guy for bow donations.

Visit this web site  http://www.bowsite2.com/pbs/gathering12.cfm
and follow the link for DONATION Infromation and you will find Greg's contact info.

Thank you very much for the donation regardless of the length (or lack thereof).  I hope to see you in Pittsburgh.

What can I say?  I respect the guy...and my mother taught me not to talk down (  :)  )  to anyone..... Mr. Brunner gave me my first recurve shooting lesson and I have been improving ever since......Besides, the man is talking about donating a bow and I figure if I am nice I may have a better chance to win the prize, I need all the help I can get when it comes to raffles.....

Since I did run the raffle booth for so many banquets, I am going to let you guys in on the secret for winning, but don't spread it around!

Now Kevin, don't go twisting my words around.  I know Mr. Brunner plays into the "short" thing with his self-deprecating sense of humor, but I wouldn't want anyone to think my accidental  double entendre was intended to belittle the man.

Buy a lot of tickets?  I may be guilty of that.

I can't wait to see this bow and the book in March.

Jack is right, if Duane's name is on the raffle he will win it.

Paul WA...

I am just doing the final sanding on an Osage longbow that is 65" long.  I haven't checked the weight yet, but it will be light...in the 50s.

I am also finishing a 64" longbow that a guy ordered and wants it 100 pounds at 27" of draw.  It's going to take two of us just to pull it 27" on my bow scale!

So...yes I do build longer bows.  It's just that SHORT IS BETTER IN ALL RESPECTS EXCEPT ONE!  Fortunately, all those growth hormones had to go SOME PLACE!!!

Mr. Brunner??????  I don't get it.  Who is he?
