Congrats Terry.  You sure do know how to down a bird with your bow.

I had 2 Toms Gobbling like crazy just over the hill in front of me.  Maybe 60 yards.  I ran out of time but when I was packing up at noon, I saw them as they worked their way about 1/2 mile away.

I found a shed from a 6 point I was hoping to see this year.

Ron,  i dont do face book, but Congrats if you killed a  Turkey!

Thanks, Charlie. I hope you are well.

I actually don't do Facebook either! My wife started a Facebook page for me and occasionally she posts pictures and videos of our son. I'm too much of a luddite for Facebook...I can barely use TradGang!

The video is of my son shooting a 3D turkey with his Black Rhino bow. It's actually pretty funny.

This morning I had a  porcupine walk up and climb the tree near me.

I bumped a  tom off the roost and didnt hear any close gobbling until about 8:30.  I played with a Tom who couldn't see my decoys due to a hill.

he made a  semi circle around in front and behind me gobbling and strutting but didn't want to come into the woods very far.  closest he came was  about 30 yards.  It was like he vanished and when I was about to move to the other side of the tree, 4 jakes came in, then left, then came back and left again.  after a couple minutes the Tom thundered off about 60 yards away, I had a  huge tree between us so I moved to the other side of the tree just in time for the 4 jakes to come back through.

Saw a few deer on the way out and There were Toms in the fields on the drive home out on the prowl.

I dislike the only hunt until noon thing lol.  there were turkey tracks in mine from yesterday.  If I sat where I did yesterday (about 100 yards) the tom this morning would have walked right past.

Finally hit the woods again to chase turkeys. Been busy catching a lot of stripers.

This morning was a short hunt, but a lot of fun. Had 15 birds fly down in the field in front of me. Not close as I inadvertently setup too close. There were 4 hens, 10 jakes, and 1 longbeard. He was leading them around like the king of the field.  The paid no attention to my lonely hen decoy.  They started to move away and I started a hen fight. I hit my box call while simulataneously agressively yelping on the diaphragm mouth call. The longbeard poked his head up and looked in my direction and then led the whole group into the trees. I knew he was going to circle around and come in from the woods. As soon as the last bird got out of site I stood up and got behind a big oak. Sure enough here comes the longbeard. I don't know where the rest of the clan went, but I was happy they didn't follow. Anyway, he hung up at 12 yards and strutted away. Finally, after a minute or so he turned away in full strut and I gave him the Frank Zappa!  Very fun morning.

Not the giant I was hoping for (I didn't get to him), but a nice bird. 9 5/8" beard. I didn't measure the spurs, but they look to be about 7/8". I'd say a solid 2 year old bird.

Congrats Terry, nice birds.

I got mine on opening day in the rain. Hunted the 2nd, 3rd, and the 7th and the 8th and haven't heard another gobble. I did call in some hens a couple of times. Couldn't get up to the catskills last weekend and won't be able to make it this weekend either. Hopefully I'll be able to go memorial day weekend if I can get away for a couple of days.
