Ed had some grand adventures. Loved reading about his buffalo hunt and really appreciated his Grizzlystiks. Good on you, Ed. RIP, Sir.

So sorry to hear of Ed's passing.  He really was something special and I will always fondly remember our time together at Klintworth turkey camp.  One of a kind, and a fascinating man to talk with.

From time to time Ed and I would get into brodhead discussions. While we did not always agree he was always a true gentleman.

Ed was not afraid to "think outside of the box" . His innovations have contributed greatly to the archery community.

Ed will be missed!

I know that his sister Bea is monitoring his email account and reporting good wishes to his wife.  I do not know if they come here or not, but I'll send a link so they can read the fine words regarding a brother and husband.

His Son, Garrett now runs the ABS biz outa the west coast.

I had the privilege in Ed's earlier days to test some of his ideas, and was amazed at how he found such unique products from his AK, often made by the indigenous folks, to share with us... he was an incurable tinkerer and inventor of sorts.

Some of the antics he'd get into it's a wonder he made it to his 70's as he did.. but he was smart, resourceful and loved the outdoors and trad for sure.  

I especially liked what Joe said about how when you hit a point of disagreement, he was always a gentleman..indeed.  RIP, ole Hoss, you are missed and will remain so!

Ed was a very active man. To believe he is gone still just numbs me. He was a college football player, teacher , paramedic, fisherman,religious trad bowhunter, devout waterfowler and incredable story teller especially about Alaska folk lore. On my hunts with him in the alaska bush, he always would tell tell the most gruesome bear eating man stories to scare the !@#$ out of me. He had a great story about encounter with Yeti in SE Alaska. Good gosh he was alot of fun.  Little known fact.   at one time ED had the Un official World Record Halibut.   Here is a newspaper clipping he sent me after it happened. If he would have bought a halibut lottery ticket, this fish would have netted him $80000.  i think this was 95ish?

Only dealings I had with the man were over the phone. Had an issue/extended delay with an order from them once and it was extended! took awhile. I didnt mind honestly no rush?

Mr. Schelief would call me once twice a week apologizing for the delays and updating me. He didnt have to and I told him that but he was honestly concerned.

Dont find that personal level of helpfulness often. It is out there but he was truly genuine in his dealings with me.

I wish him God's speed on a new journey and wish his family comfort and prayers through the loss.
