DIY Hogs SC or Ga.

Retiring in one month. I would like to do a DIY hog hunt in mid to late June. Any suggestions where I can go and camp for 4 days and hunt on public land with a few hogs running around.
Thanks

You're looking at private land in South Carolina for the month of June.

And private land in NC and Ga.
Gamelands typically require that another game species be in season. For NC, that means hogs on gamelands begins with fall deer season and ends when squirrel season ends in Feb. Hogs can be hunted on GL when turkey is in.
I believe Ga is similar.

Thanks. I hunted with Mike Mitchum and Ray Hammond in SC a few years ago in July and March. I will touch base with them to see what is available. I thought there was no closed season for hogs in both states. I didn't realize that was for private property only.

Thanks guys. I hunted a cypress swamp in July in SC. It was during that long drought and was dry. Hardly any bugs then.
I received a lot of recommendations for Stewart. Do they let civilians hunt? Is there a place to camp?
Thanks

Great camp ground with showers. Civilians hunt. You will have to pass a shooting test. 2 of 3 arrows in a 20 yard pie plate for traditional. I would look up Fort stewart hunting for all the regs. Its worth it. RC

I second what RC says about Ft Stewart. Spent a lot of time there in my National Guard days and go back a couple times a year for hogs now as a civilian. Can't beat the campground or the amount of game available. The place is absolutely eat up with hogs.
