Hey all.
I have a Morrison 17 inch aluminum riser that I am running with a set of SHORT ILF limbs. It's a really nice setup and I enjoy being able to adjust the weight up and down, but I am having a TWANG that is irritating me and I am trying to minimize it as much as I can.
I am shooting aluminum arrows mostly with a few carbons in the 500 spine. My brace height right now is right at 8 inches. According to my notes that I took on this riser when I got it, the recommended brace height is 6 1/2 to 7 inches.
I tried a very low brace height when I first started shooting it. Somewhere I got some figures that had a recommended brace height of 5 3/4 inches but I think Mr. Morrison said that only pertained if shooting a certain kind of limbs, maybe Border. I can't be 100% sure about that. I did try it, but quickly started moving it up to get rid of the noise.
Now I am trying to get it shooting as good as this setup is capable of shooting and I'd like to get some suggestions on brace height from others and those that have the same kind of riser I have that might've went thru the same stuff as I am and had the same difficulties getting it as quiet as possible.
So, if you don't mind how about posting your suggestions and advice?
Thank you for your time and any help you can give me.
