I have 3 Kifaru packs:  original spike camp, new version spike camp, and an older model late season.   The original spike camp and late season packs have carried a lot of elk out of the mountains.
The spike camp isn't the best for that as it does not have shoulder lifter straps, which, IMO, make a huge difference with heavy loads.  I got an **** deal on the newer spike camp and it is now my favorite but have not hunted with it yet.   I will say that the prices have gone up quite a bit since I got the original spike camp and late season.

On a side note,  my wife and daughter went on vacation this last summer to Australia( I stayed home, took care of the dogs and worked to pay for it    :)    ).   I offered to let them use the original spike camp for the trip but they said it "smelled too much like hunting"
