Input on Great northern quiver strap setup

Does anyone have any pictures or know of a video I ca watch on how a great northern quiver attaches to your bow? I'm trying to decide where to spend my money but I can't seem to find any examples of how it attaches. I've seen the video of big Jim's quiver being put on and I like what I see but everyone seems to love the northern quiver I just want to make the right purchase. I shoot a bear grizzly 50# recurve. I'm looking at a strap on style quiver.

Julian,
While this isn't a Great Northern Quiver, it is the same straps that hold it on. The gadget adapter, and the fish quiver are both held on by Great Northern Quiver Straps. They are very secure. Hope this helps.
Thanks,

I guess if we run into the bear that is making these tracks, we oughta just get off the trail.......He seems to like it!

Thank you sir, it's looks to be good quality. I guess I just need to decide if I should spend the extra money. I hate buying stuff over the phone. I wish I could lay hands on something before I drop that kind of cash but that's almost impossible with trad gear these days.

I have had a Great Northern quiver for many years now. It is a very nice, functional quiver. While I have not owned a Big Jim's quiver, I've watched his video and frankly, for the money, that's what I'd get. They appear to be an excellent value.

I like the GN quivers and never had a problem with noise or the quiver loosening, the thing I recommend is the quiver that adjusts so you can use it on different risers. also I remove my quivers when in stand and the GN w/ rubber straps is sound less and perfect for this.
Big Jims might be just as good I'm not familiar with his..

I have used both the Great Northern and Big Jim Quiver. You will not go wrong with either. I will add if you dislike one you could sell it or trade it in the classifieds without a big "hit" on your pocket book.

I have a Great Northern and it works great. Have even used it strapped to a compound.
Found this tip for modifying a GN so the arrows lay angled inside the footprint of the strung bow rather than hanging out beyond the bottom limb.
Wondering if anybody has tried this. Seems it would be useful still hunting thick stuff with a more streamlined setup.

Thanks for all the input, I compared both quivers as far as the mounting strap and both looked relatively similar so I went with the big Jim because I prefer a smaller quiver and the price helped make the decision to. It should be here next week and hopefully it'll be what I'm expecting. Great customer service so far and that's always a good sign in my book.

When I used a bow quiver, I used GN. I tried many over the years, but always came back to the GN!

Not known to all, but We at Selway also carry a strap on quiver, 2 pc made out of the same great material as our other quiver components. That material helps to absorb vibration and is whisper quiet! Another great feature with our quiver is that with its design it spaces out the Hood, and arrow gripper to provide a better hold, which, reduces any arrow vibration. Please feel free to give us a call and I will be more than happy to help you on your search.
Thank you!! And God Bless.

GN is a really good bow quiver. I own several of them. They have installation instructions on their website if that would help.

Nek4me,
I did modify my first GN quiver as shown, and it worked fine. That was on a 56" bow.
I have not done it yet for my new bows, as my new bows are 60", 62",64", I am going to try it first to see if I think there would be any benefit.
I have two GN quivers, one strap on, one quick detach. I think the strap on sell better on the used market, if priced right.
I had a Big Jims quiver and it worked well- stayed put as advertised

MnFn,
Thanks for the response. Have used a GN strap on on a compound and a 62" and now have a 56". With arrows 28.5"BOP may give the modification try.

Some have different models for a longbow (narrow) limb or recurve (wider) limb, plus models for side mount, limb bolt etc. Then you have a choice of 1 - 6 arrow models.
just get the right one
