I am in the process of receiving a bw plv 62" longbow from a trade. The bow is 50#@28 and my draw is 26. Was wondering if anyone could give info on what kind of carbon arrows they've had good luck tuning for this setup. This will be my first longbow and have heard they are a little trickier to tune because of center shot. I normally shoot gold tip traditionals in my recurve but thought maybe a smaller diameter shaft might tune better. Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Nick

My Widow Longbows love GT Traditional arrows. Looks like 3555's at 30.5" with 175 points will run nice for you and your new bow. These arrows will give you a little over 10 GPP and ~17% FOC. Enjoy the new Widow!!!

That was my plan to stick with gold tip cause I've shot them for years but wasn't sure cause I've never tuned a longbow. I'm excited to get bow and shoot it. Never shot a widow either but heard nothing but good about them. Any suggestions on brace height or nock placement?

Anyone know string length for 62" plv? Would like to get a new string on order before bow arrives?

Patience, Grasshopper. Will be a lot easier for a string maker to give you the exact length you need if you measure the existing string when you get the bow.
Don't know if BW follows AMO standards, but if it does, a 62-inch bow would take a 59-inch string. I recommend you wait and measure the string that's on it, or call the folks at BW.
Congrats on your new bow.

I run CE Heritage 250's through my PL-III. Though it is 66" and 53# @28. My arrows are 30" with either 175 or 200 up front. It likes them both!
Good luck, shoot straight and God bless,
Rodd

Talked to someone from bw today and they said string length about 58 1/2. I usually have good patience but am very eager to get the bow and get it tuned up cause I've never had a longbow before. Do you blame me? Like a kid at Christmas time! Thanks to all! Any more suggestions are welcome

at your draw you are prolly pulling about 45# this is about the same as my set ups as I also only draw 26"
600 spine shafts cut down a bit with 200g up front work well for me.

I'm die hard Heritage,, I've had a bunch of widows and for that bow if your shooting the stock string (not a skinny string) I'd shoot a heritage 150 cut to 29" with a 100gr brass insert and 125gr points.
