Show me your leather hip quiver
« on: July 07, 2016, 10:34:00 AM »
I have been looking to get a new custom hip quiver for taking to shoots. I have been looking at the Cedar Ridge and Farr West Leathers offerings. I would like to see some others to get more idea's of what else is out there. Also what is your likes or dislikes of a particular type. Thanks in advance for the help.

This is the one I use whenever I'm not hunting.  It holds all my stuff for 3D, roving, separates my regular arrows from my judos, etc.

I make my own. At first I wanted it to hold more than 8 arrows. I also wanted it deeper than the King hip quiver (holster style) I bought. My present one holes 8-10 arrows, has a large pouch for spare stuff. I also have a couple "D" rings for attaching stuff like an arrow puller. I also did not stich the top of pouch to quiver so I can slip a scorecard behind it. Also have a pencil slot.
Other wise it looks like an oversized hip quiver like the above named craftsman make. I have it rigged to an over the shoulder strap now. Since hip surgery I do not like weight on my right hip. It looks odd but works for me.

Can't show hip quiver , but I had one made by Steve Catts.  Very well made hip quiver very flat against your side and holds arrows very well.   Holds about 8 2018's and a few more carbons.

Beautiful hip quiver.  I may work up something similar for myself to use around the house and roving in the summer time.  What are these two tools?

GDPolk, its not my quiver, but I know the hook in the quiver (number one) is an arrow rake. If you loose an arrow under the grass or leaves you can use it to rake the area and help locate your lost arrow. It could also help move snakes out of the way from the way it looks! Not sure about the other tool. An arrow puller maybe.

The other tool is to hold score cards.  I inherited it from one of my friends when he decided to retire from the scorekeeping business.  I think it started life as some kind of clamp in the tile trade.
