Hoyt Buffalo

Tell Me about your Hoyt buffalo. I know limited limb selection, and I like to shoot off the shelf, don't need sight or plunger holes. Just looking for opinions of the bow.

I have 2. My son shoots one and likes it better than my widow and my custom longbows. I really like the way it shoots, fast, quiet, smooth, even with heavy arrows its a mover. it is adjustable. Collapses nice, not to heavy. Only problem I had was the metal riser was to cold in the -17 degree Wisconsin hunt.

I've owned a few. I have two now with the Quattro limbs
One set that is harvest brown and the other is UA ridge reaper camo
You can now buy the buffalo with Quattro limbs from a dealer you can also get it in any color Hoyt offers

I agree with AZ, and I'll add that you can shoot it with a high or low wrist. I'm shooting GT Nugents thru mine, and at 10 gpp, bow shoots great.

They shoot really well. I set one up for a,friend of mine and man it shoots good.

I had a chance to shoot several ILF and formula limb system bows over the course of the last couple weeks. I was very impressed with the buffalo and thought it shot great however, I think there other other options that do the same thing better for reasonably the same price when purchasing the bow new. I have seen enough of them on the used market and at the prices they are going for there I don't think you can go wrong.

I had a Hoyt buffalo for a number of years. I was always looking for limbs to use on that bow. They are really hard to find n some areas. If your shopping for a bow I would avoid the buffalo if your a first time archer. The only reason I didnt want to keep it was that it never got shot anymore  and the grip was tiny in my hand.

Consider the Win & Win Black Wolf as well.  See my product review in that sub forum.  A tip for anyone that decides on one of those:  You can get one shipped from the Australian distributor for about $100 US less than the cost of the bow unshipped from Lancaster Archery, who also seems to have stock availability issues.  They arrive in about 5 to 7 days.
