Dippen Bows...
« on: October 23, 2007, 10:17:00 PM »
Just a thought here, I am looking for suggestions. I have dipped a ton of arrows in a dip tube. Some with Gasket Lacquer, and recently with Helmsman Spar Urethane. I got to thinking, what if I got some 4 inch plastic pipe and made a dip tube for my Osage Bows with deflex/reflex, filled it up with the Helmans Urethane, and dipped my Bows. I could dip to the center of the handle, hang it up for a few hours, then dip the other end. I am sure I would have to touch up the string nock's, as the Spar running off would give me a build up there. I fugger I could use a small cresting brush in that area. Any ideas?

i do it all the time, with long bows and recurves not the best way but it is quick and will last about as long as spray finish, depending on what finish you use
