Another quiver question (strap on or slide on)

I'm about to purchase a quiver for my Holm-Made River Runner and have narrowed it down to a few choices (Selway, Great Northern, or a Thunderhorn). I have read a lot of threads about quiver opinions and know that I can't go wrong with just about any maker present here but what I am deciding between is a strap on or slide on quiver.

I know the advantages of not having to unstring your bow with the strap on, but in ya'lls opinion, do they perform any differently? Quietness, vibration etc. Thanks and sorry if this is redundant!

I have all 3 (strap on, slide on, and bolt on). In my opinion the slide on is more stable and solid but for ease of taking bow apart for travel I would say the strap on definitely has the advantage

I really like the eagle flight strap on. Very light weight, Hardly knows its there.   Easy to take off and use on a different bow, Stays where I put it.

I prefer my Thunderhorn Boa strap-on,easy on and off and never had it slip.

I like the slide-ons.  More stable, andI don't take my quiver off the bow until hunting season is over. On stand, I often lay the bow across my lap.  With the slide on quiver, there is no movement of the quiver parts arrows.  With strap ons, there is some rotational flex. Quiver isn't going to come off, but I just don't like the feel.

I have the Selway slide on and the Thunderhorn strap on. I never use the slide on anymore. Not that it is bad or anything, but the strap on is so user friendly. The slide on does have some shock absorbing value when used on a longbow that has a little hand shock to it.

I found the slide ons take more of the bows energy and efficiency away then strap ons. Arrow tuning can show that. They are also way heavier then strap ons. I like a 3 arrow quiver, to keep weight and negative  effect that bow quivers cause a bow, to a minimum, and you will be hard pressed to find a 3 arrow quiver. Im trying to think of when it was I needed more then 3 arrows on me while deer hunting over the last 30 years of hunting. Oh I remember.....  NEVER.

I have a Thunderhorn Mini Boa strap on and I like it. Lately I like not having a quiver on the bow even more and have been using a Duiker quiver and hanging it up when stand hunting.

I have used a Great Northern longbow quiver(non adjustable) for quite some time, it is solid, quiet and balances very well. I am sure all the quivers mentioned are quality products, can only share my experience with the GN, top notch quality...

Any of the Selways are a great option.  Life-time quiver choice.

I prefer the slide-on personally for my hunting rigs. Great products, great service, and Drew @ Selway is extremely accessible.

I have 7 thunderhorns and they all perform top notch. Love them love them

My Thunderhorn works on everything from my Whip longbow to bigger wider recurve limbs, so if you want to put one quiver on multiple bow styles, I think it's the best, if you only want it on one bow, the slide ons will work great but they are bow limb specific

I've owned all 3 of those brands, I can't say a bad thing about any of them.

As far as strap on vs slide on, I prefer neither. My best performing quiver in the field was a limb bolt mount on my 3 piece bows.

When I ordered my two piece longbow I committed sacrilege and got quiver inserts put into the riser. I just put a new Great Northern kickback to go on it with the  deep hood. I also really like the thumb screws instead of Allen mount and I bout extra sets in case I ever need them.

I like Great Northern the best. Strap on or slide on is a personal preference. I never used slide ons because I do not hunt with a quiver on the bow.

How do keep the Thunderhorn strap on from slipping? I jam it on tight and within a dozen shots the bottom mount is loose.

If you go with a slide-on be sure to mount it properly, i.e. do not leave it out over the working portion of the limb.  That's pretty much common sense, but I've had one limb failure on a bow from a very well-respected bowyer and that's the first question he asked. I wasn't using a slip-on at the time and he made good on the warranty, as it turned out to be a bad bamboo lam.  I'm sure properly mounted either will do fine.

I have used them all over the years and prefer either a Thunderhorn strap on or a GN strap on. I like my quivers long in order to capture the arrow shaft low and close to feathers. I feel it helps with the overall balance and stability. I hunt with the quiver on the bow more less just because I like the weight.
