A Beauty from Maddog Archery - Thank you, Mr. Mecredy
« on: August 05, 2016, 05:29:00 AM »
I came home late yesterday after a long day at work, and what a great ending to a difficult day.

My Prarie Predator from Maddog Archery had arrived!  All I can say, is Thank you, Mr. Mecredy!

Built as a reminder of my family and traditions, it has a maple riser with an osage highlight.  Red elm limbs have walnut veneers, under clear glass.  Reality surpassed my imagination with this work, and I'm tickled pink!

I will set it up and shoot it today - I WILL be home before nightfall!  If I could post pictures, I would - sorry for my technical deficiency.

She's prettier than a speckeled pup, Mr. Mecredy.  You have my heart-felt appreciation and gratitude.  Thank you!

One of the smoothest drawing short bows in my arsenal.

Built strong.

Shoot straight.

Very small grip.

Congratulations! Wish we could see pics.

I'd love to get my hands on one of Mike's adult sized bows to see how it would shoot for me. The Pup longbow he built for my son a few years ago looks great and performs way beyond what I  expected from a "child's" bow.

Please keep us updated on how the bow works for you.

Ok, revised plans - leaving early tomorrow for a few days of personal time, starting with a deer scouting trip.  So, time to give a little time to my patient wife.  She calls the tune tonight, which means I'll be dancing with a dinner menu and not my new stick!  I can make it another couple of days, and only pout a little!

Huskyarcher, I'll throw it in the car tomorrow!

Jonathan, you will be pleased, I'm sure.

My brother lives & hunts in Wyoming, and I'm considering ordering another for him - ulterior motive being that he'll have a hard time turning me down for a guided hunt if I have a new bow made for him!

Thank you, Matthew, for posting those.
My photographic abilities are only a notch above my posting skills - they don't do Mr. Mecredy's work the justice it deserves.

Well, I finally got the new beauty set up to shoot today, and all I can say is WOW !!

This little darling absolutely zips an arrow.  I expected some shock because it's light as can be - seriously, feels the same as 3 of my POC shafts - but she was dead still in my hand!  I couldn't see the arrows until they were right in front of the target.  She's 55# @ 29", and I shot the same POCs and 2016s I shoot from my 45# recurve because that is all I have made up now.  They were going right where I was looking - when I wasn't trying to look!  So the next step is to make up some of the shafts I have sitting & waiting, to really get her tuned.  WOW!!

She is so small, light, and delicate looking that I kept having the thought flash through my mind that she felt like a toy, or a replica of some sort - Wrong!!  There is nothing toy-like about her, except for the way I now feel like an excited kid again!  She is the real deal, and all business when it counts.

Mr. Mecredy, you are incredible.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!

Lol!  :biglaugh:   Funny, because I felt the same way! Especially coming off a recurve, they do seem toy like at first. Wait until you get good and use to it, then go look at and get a feel of your gigantic recurve!

I'm excited for you! I can hardly wait to hear how well it performs once you get some arrows tuned!
