Cute fawns .
« on: August 07, 2016, 05:32:00 PM »
Came home this afternoon and there were two fawns standing next to our house .
Pulled up the driveway slowly and steadily , and they started running in circles and would stop and look .
My wife and I were very entertained by them .
We didn't see the mama at all .
It was very nice to see those cute little fawns  :campfire:

One of perks of living in an area with deer! Seeing tiny deer like that always does something inside to me.

Love it, saw a mom with three following her last week. Beautiful!

Always a highlight
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

I've only seen one at my place this year. Too many bobcats I think.

I see a couple on road cam at my cabin in da U P this year. Hope the coyotes leave them alone.

i've got deer all over our small town.  their population has grown over the decades to the point where they almost don't fear humans.  i see deer EVERY morning when i walk.  once in a great while a rogue coyote will come down from the north and chase 'em around a bit, but other than that they have no local predators to worry about.  they graze our house bushes every night and leave their jelly bean deposits and pee burnt grass on our lawns.  3 dayze ago on a morning walk a herd of 11 pranced through the large pond behind our house - four bucks in the velvet: a pair of 6's, an 8 and a 10.  these are Big deer, nice and fat from eating home owner's landscaping and gardens.  there is no hunting in our county.  so we watch ... and wish we could harvest a few and do the game control that no one's done ... and clearly needs to be done.

then, there's the slight problem with black bears ...
