A&H Heavy limbs?
« on: August 18, 2016, 02:33:00 PM »
Hi all,

Just wondering if A&H are able to do a heavier than standard set of limbs...like 65# to 70#?

I emailed A&H a couple of days ago but havn't received a reply yet.

Thats awesome! Are you happy with the bow? What sort of speed are you getting and what arrows are you using...must have to be pretty stiff!

It's a real smooth fast shooting bow, I am getting 187 fps with a 632 grain arrow setup.  Gold tip 75/95 shafts, with a 100 grain brass insert and a 175 grain point.  I built out the rest with thick leather to get tha shaft to fly for me.

Larry will tell you why you do not need limbs that heavy and he will be right...60 pound limbs with their new BCY-X string will be all you need for just about anything...with a BCY-X string I am shooting 908 grain arrows at 150 fps with my 60 pound Cari-bow...I would hunt Cape Buffalo with that combo

I set out a while ago to reduce my herd of 40 bows...And I am finally down to 42

Thanks for the replies everyone, appreciate it! Lots of great info here. Dave is there a point of dimishing returns with heavy draw weight bows and extra mass in the limb? T
