I finnaly got'em .
« on: August 22, 2016, 12:56:00 PM »
For about four years now I have been finding button mushrooms in my archery range .
Every year I find them they are cracked and turning brown .
Today I got out there and about half of them are still good and there seems to be more just poaking up .
At last , some fresh button mushrooms .

Never collected them before. I hunt several different types of mushrooms, but not these.

They are the same as what you get in the grocery store and on pizza .

The ones we have in our grocery stores here, have grayish gills, not pink. Whats up with that?

Pink gills is when they are fresh .
They change to gray and then brown .

I used to pick them all the time in parents front yard. They are best if you can pick them before they open up, nice and tender that way.
My favorite was to chop them up and throw them in scrambled eggs.
