New 59' Kodiak tuning problems

Hey fellers, having trouble with my new 59 Kodiak, shooting consistently high and to the left. I shoot split fingers instinctively. Never shot a bow with a,feather rest before... is this my problem ? Anyone shoot them with the feather rest removed and just off the shelf  ? Any help greatly appreciated.

It sounds to me more like your arrow spine is to weak then a bow issue! Try some different stiffness of arrows and see if that makes a difference?

The arrow left is more than likely a spine issue unless your "peeking". The high part can be your sight picture. There is no reason you can not shoot the bow off the shelf, Fred did. Try it.

The feather rest compresses at the shot.I see no difference between that and shooting off the shelf.I would look elsewhere for the problem.

I find that every recurve I have shoots better with the feather rest--I love them.  My 59 (new model) shoots wood, carbon, and aluminum equally well.  I agree that it sounds like either a spine problem or a form issue. Feather rests are very forgiving.

Sounds A LOT like the feather rest is causing the high issues..!!! It usually does until your hand and brain sync up..!!! The left issues are a stiff shaft issue if your a righthander. I've shot feather rests for 6 years now and the high issue affects a number of my friends who try it....it did me..!!!! Adjusted quickly...BTW...mine is a 59' repro...AND KEEP THAT FEATHER REST..!!! Superclean arrow flight..!!!! Absolutely LOVE them..!

Hey Jackdaw, is that the reason you were shooting high this weekend when we shot at Shade Mt lol!!!! Just kidding buddy.

Also if right handed a bad release may cause the arrow to go left but most likely your arrow is to stiff. As far as the feather rest and the high arrow, just keep shooting and your brain will retrain itself.

What is the weight of your bow, your draw length, and what spine arrows are you shooting. This is a start.

I never heard of a feather rest.

Personally I would remove it and shoot off of a bare shelf for now or buy some industrial strength Velcro at your local Walmart and use that as a shelf and side plate.

High left sounds like your arrow shafts are stiff and your nocking point is too low.

I'd first start off with adding more point weight until it's just flying high and then I'd bump the nock point up until it goes away.

No Gary I was shooting off the shelf using velcro this weekend on my wing. Was kind of kicking myself that I didn't grab my Holcomb  and Shoot it! Haven't shot it much this year with kind of a bum shoulder...!!! Good to see you this weekend and fun shooting with you.......... :-D

The only way I got my Holcomb Fiftyniner to shoot well is by adding a feather rest. Once I added the feather rest the arrows flew perfectly.
