Congrats. And for what it is worth, I shoot at slow moving game all the time. Its the beauty of the trad style.

Thanks for all the congrats everyone! It's really a fine community we have here.

I didn't take many pictures unfortunately. I'll have to next time. I was too wrapped up in the moment! My wife said I was "on" for several days afterwards, and everybody I told the story to I just wanted to hug! LOL

DanielB89, yeah, fist big game bow kill was an elk! My first elk in fact. I've shot mule deer with a rifle, and killed several squirrels with the bow, but this was my first elk... They are easier than pronghorns, that's for sure; and possibly muleys - which I'm going after next!

If I'm successful, I'll post that hunt on here as well - with pics this time!

Congrats! I'm hoping for my first big game with traditional gear this year, although I'll be hunting whitetail. Great story...I hope to get out west and Hunt elk one day...it's on the bucket list!

I love to read about traditional archers taking their first big game animal. When it is an elk that's even better. I hunt mostly whitetails and feral hogs so keep those elk hunt stories coming. Thanks for sharing and congratulations on your first big game animal.
