tuning question
« on: September 19, 2016, 08:38:00 PM »
I added 2nd knocking point the the string under the knock. Bow went crazy ,,,, started hitting left and had a hard kick in the arrow. Removed it and bam all is well again. What on earth happened?
Is it deer season yet?

That is the only thing I could imagine might cause what you describe. When you nock your arrow on the string, there should be 1/16"-1/8" space between the bottom of the nock and the bottom nock point.

Agree with fireball.  Give a bit of room to eliminate nock pinch.

Don't know if this will help I agree with some room from top to bottom nock, but all my bow have double nock so i have a 58" recurve that is my go to hunting bow but the same thing happened so I removed the bottom nocking point and bam thing are dead on. I draw 29 1/2" but on my 62" and 64" bows I need tow mocks.  I shoot 3 under.  Bob

Sure was glad I read this. My Leon Stewart recurve was consistently shooting left and noisier than I thought it should be. Checked my bottom nock and it was closer to the nock than normal. Cut it off and now it shoots great. Sure saved me a head ache.
God Bless
