Swivel if I'm in a popup blind, period.

If a natural blind, 65% is Waldrop 25% swivel and 10% on cushion sitting on earthen seat dug into steep bank.

+1

it's heavy, and it's not cheap. BUT, it's extremely well-built, extremely comfortable, and extremely quiet. perfect chair for my blinds.

A swivel chair is not best in many of my applications.

Often times a waldrop type seat positioned low to the ground enables me to move quickly and silently to my knees to optimize repositioning. The seat has been quickly folded and moved completely out of the way. The quarry is often times on top of me with little notice and the tight quarters may require me to shift to a different position in the blind as the game is virtually on top of me.

Have harvested most of my game from my knees while resting on my heals....I am a fan of swivel seats where applicable.

I employ the use of both types, however utilize the waldrop for most hunting setups.
