I broke a two-year dry spell this morning. He passed behind my stand twice yesterday morning but I couldn't get a shot. This morning he followed a doe on the wrong side of my stand, for him. His right G3 is broken off so he's not real pretty but I'm happy with him.

Sorry for the poor pictures, I was trying to hurry out of there, skeeters were about to carry us both off.

Nice bucks fellas!
I managed to get a couple more does since my last post on this thread.  Both came off a private farm near my home in Fort Gibson.

Took this one last Saturday...

I just got home last night. A fun few days seeing a good number of bucks. I finally got a shot at this old boy at 9:30. I am using a 51# Selfbow of Osage taken off of this property. Some how seems right.

Oklahoma instituted a 2 buck limit a few years ago and it has made a big difference...you should see similar results in Missouri soon

Your right, I saw more bucks this trip than any trip in the last 10 years. Much excitement.

Onehair -- really great buck.   Congrats.  It is also really cool that you got that buck with a self bow from osage taken from that property.

What part of the state?

Carbonflyr:

In the first hog pic, I had easton axis arrows.   In the second, I had BloodSport skinny arrows with Outserts.

I am still experimenting.  I tried out some Black Eagle Vintage arrows this weekend and they worked out great.

I have not been able to close the deal on a buck but was lucky enough to score on a couple of does this past weekend

I was using my tall tines recurve 60# @ 30" -- I used a Simmons treeshark on one and a grizzly on the other.

This doe came in walking straight towards me while ground hunting a new spot and I took a frontal shot at about 8 yards, she went 60 yards and left a profuse bloodtrail. It's not a shot I would take on a whitetail from a tree or at any distance beyond 12-15 yards but if it is placed properly with the right arrow/broad head it is pretty deadly.
This will be the 3rd whitetail I've taken with this shot and none of them have made it over 70 yards

Looks like you OK boys are staying in the house. I'm heading out for a few days this Sunday. My ambition is low after taking my selfbow buck but I do need a couple of does.
