Strange morning
« on: October 08, 2016, 06:14:00 PM »
Had a 2.5 yr old buck come by this morning...and he was still in velvet....then I see another deer following him....think it's probably a small bk also....nope- it was a doe.  Strange indeed.  Maybe the first one was a antlered doe?
Anyone else see doe following bucks or velvet bucks in southern MO this late?

Just yesterday my wife told me that she saw a big racked buck being followed by a big doe .
I told her , that was very unusual .

This is a a antlered doe we have been watching Tim. It's still in velvet and follows these two everywhere.

Have plenty of picks tail up in front cam and defently a doe.

Have picks up to two days ago and it still in velvet, the rest of our bucks we've been watching all summer were done shedding by September 9th this year. Pretty cool I think!

Pretty cool... I wouldn't hesitate to put my tag on a funny doe!

We're going to let this one go and see what happens, Its off limits and going to be fun to see what makes of this. It's a first for me but I know it happens in the wild it's not uncommon or unheard of.

What's really weird is early in the season a friend not to far away sent me a pick of a doe he was getting with horns that had a fawn. She has since disappeared but he got several picks of them and the fawn nursing. What are the odds? Two antlered does 30 minutes from each other in the same season. Kinda weird!
