Jim and Sky Archery question ...
« on: October 14, 2016, 08:33:00 AM »
Jim is making the Shrew Hill longbows.  I am wondering if anyone has one - how do they compare to the ones Gregg made?  Also, How does the Shrew Hill compare to the Union Jack - I know the Shrew is thinner by a bit, but how about draw, cast, noise etc ... are there any big differences in shooting characteristics?

I didn't know he is making the ShrewHill.  I should be receiving my new American longbow from Jim any time now if he is close to the delivery time he gave me.

Is this a recent change in bowyers? His website says Chuck at Two Tracks makes the ShrewHill.

M60gunner,

Yes the website says that, but it is an older posting.  Chuck is busy with his business - his Echo is awesome by the way.  Jim is building the Shrew Hill now, trying to help Ron out.  Jim builds excellent bows.  I was hoping someone from this board may have some experience with a Shrew Hill from Jim.  I was curious how similar it was to Gregg Coffee's when he was building them for Ron.  I have one of Gregg's and I really like it - I shoot and love my Berry bows 99.9% of the time, but I really do like that Shrew Hill of mine.  Thus, I got to wondering about Jim's version.  Also I am curious about how the Shrew compares to his Union Jack.

I have tried to contact Ron, but it is a tricky thing to do, especially in the heart of bow season.
