I had a strap on step break ( the metal fastener  / part) while setting up a friend's stand.  Actually two.  I am much heavier than she is, but
after getting I believe four steps in place, standing on two of them one broke, making me fall into the next one breaking it.  I didn't fall very far, but I landed stiff legged on a large root and thought I broke my foot for a while.  I also cut up one arm a bit on the step that didn't break.

I also had a friend have the whole tree come down, with him in it.  It was a small one in the marsh and he was not hurt, it was kinda funny later and he got teased about it, but it happened.

All those things can break, at any time.  Be careful.
