Strap on quivers

I'm considering asking Santa for a strap on Quiver for my '66 Kodiak.  I like the Big Jim, the Kanati Hunter, and the Kanati Pro.  If you include both the basic and deluxe Big Jim models, the prices are basically $60, $70, $75, & $90, plus shipping.  I like the Kanati angle mount that has a frame connecting the two halves, but the shipping will put it a little over my limit of $100.  Anyway, lets hear what your experiences have been with each one.  I'd especially like to hear from people that have used multiple quivers from the list.

I have three BigJim's and love them , he also makes a kick back model with the bracket

I've got Kanati quivers and Big Jims. Good luck getting a Kanati these days. I use EFA quivers by Don Ward now, They are a sponsor and have lots of options. The service can't be beat.

Are they not making them anymore? It looked like the website was operational.

I like my big Jim but after a year the strap has dry rotted and the river arrow holder has been bowed from the moment I got it and it causes arrows to fall out. Not a huge deal suprised it's dry rotted already since it hasn't really been in the elements. Gonna order new straps and gripper soon I guess I love the quiver

Hadn't seen the EFAs before.  That may be the way I end up going.  I love the snake skin models, but not sure it would be right on my Kodiak.  I have a Red Wing Hunter that I put Timber Rattler skins on a couple months back.  A matching quiver would be sweet. Thanks.

Do a search on here, you can't  get in touch with John. He has a new business, Kanati seems to be in limbo.

Call Don he has several options and added plus is the Velcro straps don't wear out every year and need to be replaced.

Hate to hear that about Kanati.  I always heard good things about them.  Maybe one of our other fine sponsors could get the rights to the name and designs and get production back going on them.

I'd go Great Northern or Thunderhorn before any of those mentioned.  I think I've tried everything out there now and would put Thunderhorn lynx small fry first and great northern kickback extreme with inline arrow gripper second.

What do you folks think about the EFA mesa quivers?  those look like a great design.

I bought a new Thunderhorn lynx small fry and I love it. Arrows are secure, and they come back at an ideal angle for easy retrieval.

I called thunderhorn, and sent them a picture of my bow. They matched the leather to the wood, and it looks fantastic. Great people to talk to. They even saved me about 15 bucks by giving me a "contrasting" quiver at a "solid" price. Think it was 90 bucks including shipping.

I've looked at them and they are nice but until this season used 3 blade broadheads.

I have the cheap thunder horn boa from 3r and like it a lot.  Used it 2 seasons now.  Take quiver off / on for every every hunt and the rubber straps are still in great shape (and I hunt every day). 50 bucks I think.  And I glued and stitched leather over the plastic top and it looks as cool as my selway!!

I have tried most the bow quivers out there and I keep coming back to my Thunderhorn boa. I'm using the small fry now. They are a good looking functional quiver. I don't have any trouble with them moving.

Thunderhorn Small Fry for me also....I've tried all of the above mentioned, always come back to the Thunderhorn.
