doe with blood on tail
« on: November 23, 2016, 07:56:00 AM »
Saw an estrous doe followed by a buck with blood around vagina and on underside of tail.  She was 15 feet away for a few minutes and doing some tail flicks.  I've never seen this crimson color so pronounced.  Has anyone else seen a doe like this.  Friend had video of doe that same day being mounted.

Life's rough during the rut :/ I'm going to guess it was a tine. I've seen bucks in Kansas just running a young doe into the ground out in the middle of a field. I wouldn't be surprised if an accasional doe is killed in this fashion not unlike many bucks who overdue themselves during the rut and don't make it through a hard winter. This was last year and I didn't have a tag so I intervened and hopefully gave her time to get the heck out of there
