To pick a spot on an animal you're trying to shoot.
I had a bunny sitting still and in the clear for me today. It was a "really far" shot (also known as about 5(five) yards).
I rushed the shot, didnt pick a spot, and my nice sharp Zwickey went over its back. The rabbit didnt stick around, and I recovered my arrow. No harm, no foul, but my pride took a hit.

I hear you!!! I have a terrible time with it (see my posts on picking spots on deer!!). Your walking along and suddenly...THERE'S A GROUSE (or bunny)!!!! Your mind just wants to shoot NOW!!! Before it gets away!! No time to waste.... Shoot !!! Shoot!!! Shoot!!! I can't tell you how many Buck Fever moments I have had like that. But, I am getting better slowly. Lots of visualization as Ron talks about in his new book has helped. It ain't easy though....what a rush!

If I miss rabbits, I prefer to miss high. The arrow sometimes freezes them, other times they come back towards me. Yep a spot - eyes and that tan spot behind the ear

Guilty!
I missed a full grown nyala bull at 11yds last summer in South Africa! It all worked out great though because when they came back, an even bigger bull was with them, and I did not miss that time! To this day, I say God jerked on my arm to make me miss the first one because he knew the bigger one was coming!

Hopefully I can redeem myself this week when Im off work. I guess Im in good company when it comes to not picking a spot. I already have 2 squirrels with my new bow, at a longer range, so a bunny should be no problem if I do my part.

No immunity to any type of faux pas..likely infected by most.
My own practice sessions, 3D's as well as in the field, starts with focusing on the smallest spot before even starting the the shot execution.
