some numbers
« on: October 28, 2007, 10:31:00 PM »
a bloke had his chrono at a shoot last weekend and quite a few people were having a go of the "lie detector".    :biglaugh:
anyway here are the numbers i was getting with 2 of my bows for those who are interested:

RER vortex 51lb@30", 545gr arrow (10.7gr/lb) = 176fps average.

Centaur 53lb@30", 560gr arrow (10.6gr/lb) = 180fps average.

and gee you loose a lot with a poor release - i think a chrono can be used to tell you more than just how fast your bow is.
i like these arrows around the 10-11gr/lb mark for my hunting bows. and they are going quick enough for my eye - how good are these numbers though - i don't know...?

The numbers look good to me, those are a little faster than those I get out of my widow at those gpp.  I have to drop to 9.5 to get 180.

And what is a bloke?

btw, those are pretty good numbers. A 30" draw helps a lot in the fps dept, with 2" more power stroke and all.

Yea, Took me a few times then I finaly had to ask," What is a bloke"? Same with a person asking , "do you want to have tea", means do you want to eat. Needless to say, I didn't eat with many people for a while.
