Tracy - all your bucks drop earlier than most because their headgear is so danged big and heavy!!!!!  I wouldn't want to carry 180+ inches of bone on my head very long either!  LOL

Found 1 2weeks ago and blood on base was very fresh!  Looked like it was no more than a couple of hours off the buck.  As of last weekends camera check all the other bucks sported full headgear.

I was watching DR Kroll I believe and he said deer will drop earlier if they are injured. He said it has to do with their testosterone levels being low because of injury

That, and if there sickly or really wore down bad and skinny from a long hard rut. I've seen spikes to booners shed early over the many years we been keeping track.

We need pictures Chris  :)
Serious Shed hunters I have talked to around my area start looking every day after Christmas and yes that's not when they find the most but they find some in January every year. There is a lot of competition so they look every day till the grass is high enough to hide the sheds.

The best shed hunters in my area are the mice and squirrels.  They have really popped for me on overcast days after a rain when looking for mushrooms.  I also believe an injury or hardship can lead to early droppage.

My best friend's dad found a matched set (10) last year on Dec. 26th.

We won't really start hitting the trails hard until mid to late Feb.
