Assenheimer Bows....?

Is there anyone making the Assenheimer bows again since Don stopped making them and all his inventory was sold ??? Thanks, Horserod

To my knowledge no.. I believe his son sold off Donnie's remaining inventory and kept the tooling and it was not for sale. I heard he was going to discard the forms. I was told Don's son did not want the bow to be made again after Donnie hung it up. That bow was my first custom take down and they were made in the town I grew up in. Don is such a nice guy and he made a great bow. That generation of Bowyers is getting thin...

I took my first Trad deer with an Assenhiemer. 58 @ 26. Eventually  the weight got to be too much. Had to sell it. Very nice bow and pretty peppy. Too bad some one did not take over that line.

I am reading the chapter written on Mr. Assenheimer in Traditional Bowyers of America at the present time.  Sure seems like bowyers work at it for awhile then decide to move on and do something else.
