Bag for archery knick knacks
«
on:

Hi Guys,
I am looking for a bag to keep archery related knick knacks like Bow Square, few spare points, strings and other tools.
What you guys use? I believe few guys use fishing tackle boxes but I am looking for a soft case which I can carry in my backpack if i ever need.
Thanks

I use a small, over-the-shoulder bag. I have a couple, of different sizes, from a canvas haversack to a leather, black powder possibles bag, to an adapted/converted woman's purse. But I never carry a bow square. Just points, glue, string, wax, nocks, pliers and mini-binoculars, gloves, etc.

I use a small (6 pack sized) soft sided cooler. Mine has a zipped upper deck, I guess to hold a sandwich, which is where the bow square goes ( it sticks out). That is my traveling fix it case for all things archery. That won't do you any good for back packing I guess. Just have your wife sew up a quick stuff sack of the perfect size and shape, then "stuff it" into your pack as needed.

The bow square is the only really bulky thing. I have a full set of all kinds of point weights, spare inserts, spare nocks, bow square, hot melt, pliers and bowstringer and keep it all in a large flat tackle box. I take this with me to shoots, but it normally stays in the back of the SUV. I don't bother carrying a bow square, as I have an arrow marked with the correct brace height, and my nock height doesn't vary. The rest of the stuff fits in a pocket of my quiver.

I use a large fishing tackle box. Works great and keeps everything organized. I hang my bow square on a peg board since it doesn't fit, but other than that, everything fits in there nicely.

Tackle box in the shop and truck. Shoulder bag in the field. Black marker dot on my bowstring to replace a new string nock. Fist and thumb for brace height. I never carry a bow square.

I use this. I know self promotion here, but I love it. I take it on hunts too. Holds broadheads, t-square, extra nocks, extra glove, allen wrenches (if needed), sharpening hone, file, and extra wind detector. Can put other stuff, but that is what I have got in it most times.

I use an old tool bag. I started with the items you mention but started to add stuff. My first "tool bag" got to small. I went with a bigger one that is duffle bag size. I leave it in my vehicle all the time. My "kit" includes 3-4 hats, old gloves for cold mornings, spare this and that, water bottle holders, and ?

Got to Walmart or Target and get a kids pencil bag, the kind with a zipper closure That should hold your do dads safely and relatively quietly in your pack.

I have a canvas dopp kit/shaving kit bag. It flattens down easily and takes up very little room in my duffle. I carry a small file, nock pliers, string wax, spare blunts, glue whatever is needed. I have a shortened bow square in there also, just cut a couple of inches off one to fit it in there.
