Totes on February, turkeys in the spring, groundhogs/fish/frogs in the summer, deer/elk/bear/etc. In the fall and winter, along with other small game. Just shows that there's no closed season if you realm look! I've never messed with predator calling but I might have to dust of the old call I have somewhere and start letting some totes embarrass me!

Thumper Dunker, nice head shot and good looking coyote!   How many have you been able to take with trad gear over the years?              Coyotes are a great trophy.   Congrats

This is a great thread to me, I've always thought taking a yote with stick and string would be a very significant accomplishment. I'd love to learn more Thumper, I'm new to this yote hunting with stickbow.

I've thought about a bird wing hanging off a limb swinging with some sent or a fawn decoy. What do you think I should do? Whats the best month to call one in during the winter time? Does anyone recommend locating them at night? What are some resources (article, videos, threads) for me to study up on to help the learning curve? What's the best scent or trick to use to get them infront of a game camera?

Ive killed several with my recurves hunting for deer.   All out west.  Here in PA is another story.  Wary.  Been educated by everybody and their brother.  Getting my FoxPro reprogrammed now.  Then back at it.

I call them in with a fawn bleat when I am trying to call in a deer that is in sight, so I do not shoot.  I think as many should be shot out of our valley as possible, they out number the deer.   When I intentionally went after them after seer season, I could not get them in close enough for a bow shot.

Just yesterday I lip squeaked a coyote in to about 15 yards. When I started to think about shooting, he must have seen my brain move and bolted.

I can trap them fine, but have yet to call and kill one successfully.

Might need to put it on my list to get on some notes when I'm out in wyoming for archery elk.   Great stories.  I rarely see em in my deer stand, or during daylight for that matter around here.
