Last time i saw my first bow my little brother was about 11 and I had let him have it to shoot. I think it is now somewhere at my Dad's house but whenenver I'm visiting there never seems to be a right time to look for it. It was a green solid glass Shakespeare about 25# at 28". In 1977, when I was about 20ish some guys at work were talking bowhunting and I said that was something I'd like to try and wouldn't you know it one of them was so eager to sell me their 62 Bear Alaskan (47# @ 28")that I happily forked over $15.00 for it. He said he was saving for a new compound. I killed my first archery deer with the Alaskan about 5 years later. Still have it and still shoot it from time to time.

I still have the York green glass bow my Dad gave me in 1968, and the Bear Tigercat my Dad gave me a few years later.
