Car Wax?
« on: October 30, 2007, 10:33:00 PM »
Now that I've got one in the freezer this year, I want to get the next one with my Dryad.  Problem is, I finished it with Deft, and I found out after the fact that that finish is not waterproof.

Would a coating of car wax protect the Deft finish sufficiently to allow me to hunt with this bow?  I don't hunt in heavy rain, but I'd like to be able to use the bow in light rain or the occasional rain shower.

Thanks,
BillJ

Spray over that Deft with a couple of coats of the exterior Deft in satin. It dries quick.

OK, I'll look for a can of the exterior Deft.  Still curious about car wax as a finish, though, so bumping one time TTT.

I use Johnson's paste wax on my selfbows, not as a finish but over the finish. Seems to work well.
