XX75 reduce spine.....?
«

Trying to relive my youth...! I bowhunted with these JDA arrows when I started thirty years ago and want to again celebrating my 30th Bowseason this year. Since I cannot find any 2215 JDA Supernaturals ( I do have 2217 and 2219's) I am needing to reduce the spine on these too stiff arrow shafts. Is there anyway to add weight to these reducing the spine? My Zwickeys either size weigh 145 or 175 grains. Any help will help.

Steel broadhead adapters and and heavier heads will reduce the spine. according to the spine calculator, a 75 grain jump in point weight, from 175 grains to 250 grains will drop the spine of a 2117 that is 29" bop about 15 pounds. 66 to 51 pounds of spine.

Bow draw weight and draw length is needed to help much. You already know they are too stiff, why the "need" to stay with the 22XX series?? Heavier inserts and point are really your only options.

I would consider trying to find someone that could trade for the size you want .
Also , it's been my experience that if you try to make a wrong spine arrow work , it's not ever going to be to your satisfaction .
Get the correct arrows and don't bother waisting your time and money . Unless you are just waiting to experiment .

Probably right King. But, I'd suggest this. I wear size 13 shoes (yes, canoes) but since I have a pair of size 6 shoes that are REALLY nice, how do I make them work?? Sometimes, just because you have something, doesn't make it a good "fit."

Why? Because these JDA 's have not been made in twenty some years... I have 2217 and 2219 but these 2215s are almost impossible to find. Thank you all I have ordered some heavy steel broadhead adapters in a test kit. One of these will work.

A heavy arrow is deadly and the bow more quiet. A win win. T

Guys, you may have missed the idea that there is a very sentimental reason he wants to hunt with those arrows. That can be a big part of our journey in archery/bowhunting. I dig it (and that phrase sort of dates the old guy, huh?) :D
