Painting or refinishing carbon arrows??
« on: May 23, 2017, 11:44:00 AM »
Found some arrows that shoot great for me, but are horribly ugly to me.  Has anyone had experience painting or refinishing arrows??  Dipping maybe??

Thank You

Absolutely. I dip in lots of mediums. My favorite for carbon is fletch-lac. Although it smells, it's tough.

I strip, then steel wool lightly with acetone to clean the shafts completely. I them plug and cap dip them. Crest them fletch. Good to go.

Mask and use Rustoleum Fusion spray paint.

Been capping mine with Rustoleum for 10 years. Wipe them down with some alcohol and spray. IF I want to take off all the markings I use denatured alcohol.
