Removable/re-attachable elevated rest?

I'm sure someone has tried this or at least thought of this already. I have a wet weather bow with a bear weather rest that I shoot vanes off of. I would really like to be able to have the option to remove the rest, shoot of the shelf in nicer weather and be able to reattach when wet. Anyone ever try using the heavy duty velcro for something like this? My concern is that the rest would line up differently or wouldn't be strong enough and the rest would get nocked off. I picked up some velcro rated at 15 pounds. Wanted to see what other experiences were before attempting. Did it work or fail?

Velcro is not likely your best choice, however I do exactly that sort of thing with my bows all the time using 3m double sided tape.

How do you switch between plate and elevated rest BAK? I bought the bow specifically for wet weather but like how it shoots and prefer shooting off the shelf normally.

Try a screw in springy rest instead. Easy to setup or remove.

It's a new Bear Grizzly. No plunger hole. Deer season doesn't open until September, and I don't have another shoot to go to until July so I could just give it a try and see what happens. No harm in experimentation right now. I was just hoping someone had tried this already and either succeeded or failed.

Remember to alter your nocking point when you switch arrow rest points.

Something you might consider , use Barge Cement on your weather rest .
It can be removed from the bow by just rubbing it with your thumb . Comes off clean and you could do that as often as you want .
Also , setup two strings with the different nock points .

I am having a tough time visualizing how you can remove or change up and not have to at least verify tuning. Good luck if you can figure this out and keep us informed.

Two strings goes without saying. I use 3M double sided tape for outdoor use. It will with some effort peel off the "Brush rests " I use. But I still would need to have a supply of side plates to replace the rest. Then like Rick says you need to be in tune.

Maybe since it is a bear weather rest I can cover the rest with a plate material instead of removing the rest. If I could cover it with a piece of leather pushing the flipper thing in, it might work. Yes I would have to go with a weaker arrow for "off the shelf", but it's a new Grizzly cut past center. Might be a better and more conservative approach?. I was thinking separate strings for different nocking points as was mentioned. Got me just in time before I ripped the rest off and started tuning all over again.

Slightly off topic, but have you tried shooting vanes off the shelf? You'd be surprised at how well it works when your setup is well-tuned.
