Side or strap on quiver for hunting

On my RER Vortex II I used a Great Northern strap on 5 arrow model and really liked it. I've since taken up ASL type bow and have purchased a side quiver from Cedar Ridge. Haven't hunted too much with it, but do like it.

They tie on the bow at the fades.  Some use them with out a Shaft retainer and just hold them with their hand.  I don't use the leather style shaft holder too much anymore but now make them out of a piggy backer.

Very easy to use, very quiet and requires little movement.

I'm not a fan of shooting with a bow quiver on, but like the convenience of everything being in one package. I liked my kwickee quiver cause I could move with it on and take it off on stand. But I felt the arrows vibrated too much toward the fletching when I shot with it on. I have a great northern bow quiver I like, and it does actually help with a lighter weight bow when shooting. I'm actually thinking of using a 2,3, or 4 arrow quiver for broadheads, and a side quiver for small game heads. I'm looking at the gfa, cedar ridge/ mantis style, or a jack bower style side quiver. But then I have the added baggage and bulk of the bow quiver AND side quiver!

I like bow quivers for the extra heft and stability they give to a bow, particularly a small risered longbow.  Also very convenient.  I never take mine off.  I like Selway slip on quivers.

I like the Thunderhorn small fry strap on. I always leave it on my bow as I don't get using a bow quiver and taking it off every time I get in a stand

I have both, but use my Safari-tuff Duiker more often.

Ive been wondering, i have a 6 arrow straight hood quicky air. Wonder how hard it would be to mount some sort of a strap to it and use it as a back style quiver

have a look at marksman quivers.

they have bow quivers and recently released a side quiver.
the unique feature of these quivers is their modularity. all of the hoods and grippers are interchangeable on the strap on brackets for a bow quiver or the side plate for a side quiver, meaning if you get the whole system you will have a bowquiver and a side quiver while utilising the one hood and gripper.

the side quiver is very ergonomic and well designed, as are the bowquivers.

I used a hip quiver for years, then after a couple of times removing it during a calling set up for elk and in a tree stand for deer and I couldn't get a second arrow without a lot of movement, I tried a bow quiver and haven't shot without one since!!!!!! It might take you a little getting used too, but you will get used to it quick. It also adds mass to the bow and helps steady the shot. I think the hardest thing to getting used to it was on carrying the bow. I used to carry my bow a lot by the grip with the string up just like I could raise it up to shoot, but with a quiver on, the bow wants to rotate so I just let it rotate string down and it's real comfortable to carry. I really like the Selway slide on quivers a lot, but they are more work getting on and off. The Thunderhorn Boa seems to be the best strap on I've tried and has fit every single bow I've tried it on from Recurves to slim profile Longbows.
