Raptor Archery closed for the summer
« on: June 20, 2017, 12:21:00 PM »
Yep its official Lois and I are moving from Hood River to Friend/Dufur Oregon, Raptor will be shut down a bit as we get the new shop built, off grid power set up and well just get used to not living in the rat race of downtown Hood River.
Where is Dufur? thats the idea , we want to live somewhere that nobody has heard of , not a destination resort town any longer.
Biggest problem in Friend is how to keep the deer and elk from eating your yard plants. Lots of building to do and then of course hunting season so we will be shut down for a bit. We will still have open to the community store as well as the phone and internet sales, just lots more parking.

good for you Ted. But you have to be kidding (rat race of downtown Hood River) Isn't Dufur about 1 hour SE of Hood River?

Congrats Ted! If I wasn't busy building 450' of private fence? I would offer my back, and a couple days of free labor.... Which is saying a lot! I even turned my own Mother down when asked to help her move....   :saywhat:

I remember when Hood River was a small quiet place. I also have been to Dufur, it will be awhile before Dufur gets like Hood River. Good luck Ted.

Yes Outwest thats what we are hoping, I grew up in Hood River and cant believe the change even in the last two years, to many magazines writing about what a great place this is.
Chuck you are correct on the distance, actually not far from where Western States was last year.
Thanks Tommy look forward to you hunting out here.
Anyway signing off for a bit but will be back after hunting season and the new shop build. Have a good season.
