Bowfishing arrow flight issues

Hi Tradgang.
Trying to set up an early 70s Super Kodiak for bowfishing and I'm having arrow flight issues.
I'm shooting one of the AMS white fiberglass arrows and the arrow seems to shoot left and then plane to the left upon entering the water.
The bow is 40lbs at 28 inches and I draw 29in
I'm guessing it's too stiff for that light of a bow?
Try a thinner side plate? I'm using a standard bear rug and side plate.
Or try a different arrow?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Are you getting this flight with or without the line attached?
If line attached, slide system or line tied to front of arrow?

It is flying that way with the string attached via a slide system. I'm using a brand new AMS PRO REEL and the line absolutely pours out the plastic line container.

I had the same thing happen with solid fiberglass fishing arrows.
Three rivers sells a lighter spined fishing arrow, actually hollow.
Shoots very well out of my 45 lb@28 Browning nomad stalker. My draw is 27.5 in.
