tube style side quiver

At the range this morning there was a fellow archer with a tube style side quiver that not only held his arrows, with a fully covered top end cap which does mean a lot here in the NW, and the quiver also carred a knife, cordage, fire starter, container, and cover. As he noted to me that all of his basic outdoor survival needs were contained within or on this quiver. This was a DIY that he and his wife had made. It was fully camo'd and very nicely done. Is this a one off or have many others also built there own?
What I did not check out was his recurve, as I walked away he shot it and this was the quietest bow that I have been around.
Anyway, back on topic, if you have made any tube/side quiver can we hear about them?

I was interested in making one a while back. I couldn't decide how is make it stay put where I wanted. I used some pvc and simple cord to mock up a protype. I ended up using some 6oz leather I had lying around and made one using two straps like a back pack with the bottom angled towards my draw hand. Worked pretty good with field tips. Gave it to a friend as a gift.

I have a Jack Bowyer's Side Stalker side quiver.  Love it.  Mine has a fleece snow/rain cover (removable) and a sheath for a file.

They had a build along in Trad Bowhunter mag a couple years ago. It was made of PVC down spout material and came out really nice. I would have made one but I have a Palmer Bow Mate Elite that is basically the same design.

It's become my final quiver design but in the end it's not exactly like the one in the how to.

Nice!  I'm going to have to try that.  I have a bunch of scrap leather from my botched moccasin project.

I have a Simmons tube quiver that is bomb proof.  Holds 5 arrows and holds the arrows in a rotary arrangement so they are separated and totally quiet. You just rotate the arrows to bring the next one into the withdrawal slot. Full length protection with hard tube covered with camo cloth.

I made one off of the plans above--- great for stumping and 3d.  Would like to do a pvc one with combo fletch cover/ gear box top.  Would like to see plans for 1.  Think that would be good for hunting.

I made some using a plastic map tube- the tubes come with a strap and removable top. I just had to cut it down to size, cut in and arrow opening, pad the bottom and then I attached camo cloth to the out side- total cost was less than $20 bucks

What impressed me the most with the tube quiver that I talk about above is the fact that all basic needs,including carrying your arrows, is wrapped into this one thing to carry. If you don't want a bow quiver then carrying a side quiver that holds the rest of your basic needs just seems to be a sound idea to me. When I look at some of the great pictures of the archers of our past and note just how thrifty they seemed to be with what they carried, then think of how uncomfortable I have been getting a pack or bag, or back quiver caught in the brush, it seems logical to go a simple as one can. Thanks for all you ideas.
